Switching from CrazyBump to Shadermap
Hi,
I am currently looking for an alternative for Crazy-Bump and thought i might give Shadermap a try. It looks very promising sofar.
However, i have a few issues with creating a good Displacement-Map.
Within the Demo i get more of an Grayscaled version of my Diffuse Texture. But in CrazyBump i get a more "depth"-based version, which seems to work nicer with Paralax-Mapping.
The Diffuse Texture(one of the examplepictures on Windows):
The default Result i get in Shadermap(sofar, changing the sliders did not result in something like CrazyBump)
and the default result in CrazyBump:
If and how is it possible to archieve a similar result in Shadermap? The current Beta has some changes regarding the Displacement-Map-generation/Editor. However, i can not compare them as Demo user. Can someone do this for me?
Greetings

I generated a displacement map for you as requested.
This was done using the new plugin and the following parameters:
Auto Edge - 25
High Detail - 50
Mid Detail - 50
Low Detail - 100
Invert - NO
Scale High - 95
Scale Low - 95
High Clip - 100
Low Clip - 0
Post Normalize - NO
Fast Preview - NO
Preserve Alpha - YES
Here are the normals generated from that map:
And the final result in the Material Visualizer (Parallax Displacement Material):

Neil
Bought it, and tested this out myself. It's great!
EDIT:
how it looks
Thank you very much.
