Normal Maps on Human Textures

Hi,

Simply allowed the program to make the normal maps for my Bruno skin I made for Genesis but it's really weird. Swirly stuff going on all over the skin. Not what I'm after.

Can someone please help me to understand how to go about making a nice normal map for human skin textures??

    Hi Richard,

    This may be an 8 bit artifact - go to Options & Settings -> Maps and make sure Force 16 Bit Maps is enabled (will be on by default in future release). Then recreate the SM2 project and see if this clears up the swirls.

  • OK that helped out allot but the maps are broken up into different segments which is the only way to put a high quality mapping onto a human character and well there are seams now where there were none before so this may not be the solution I was looking for. Thanks much!

    Set "Post Blur" and "Auto Edge" on the displacement to 0
