Will ShaderMap Exploit GPU Power of OpenCL™?

Hi Neil,

With so much processing horsepower in today's video cards, more and more applications are being coded to harness it. Will ShaderMap at any point be utilizing the resources of the GPU OpenCL™?

This is a good question. There answer is I don't know. It isn't currently in the design document for SM2.

One place OpenCL could be used with immediate results is in the OPTX image processing library. I will do more research when building the SM3 design docs.
  • Very cool :)

    Thanks Neil.
  • How about multiple gpus?

If I decide to make an OpenCL version of the image processing library then it would only make sense to support multiple GPUs. I believe this works similarly to using multiple CPUs (multiple threads).

Of course I'll need to update my system to have multiple GPUs before experimenting with this... A perfect excuse xD
