Hi Chief. There's not currently a way to do this. A setting will be added to fix this in an upcoming release. Until then you may need to use a batch renamer application.

I just set up my Windows 8 PC with an X64 CPU. The first thing I did was to install SM2 from the website. I didn't update the computer, install .NET runtimes, or anything special.
After the SM2 install I made sure to install the VC++ run… -
Hi GKDantas,
We are waiting for our new Win 8 64 bit machines to arrive. Until they get here we are not officially supporting Windows 8 - Should be any day now.

It could be that the TIFF is using an unsupported compression. Currently only LZW is supported (ZIP and JPEG are not).

You may install ShaderMap 2 on up to 3computers. That should cover your work and home machines. It won't be a problem. -
I found the error and fixed it. It was missing an attribute sort when loading models with multiple subsets from project file. This caused the mouse-to-mesh intersection to fail.

I was able to replicate the bug by adding two models then deleting the first before saving.

Hi Kromar,
What model are you left clicking on? How are you able to rotate the model without using left click?
Can you please list the steps to reproduce the error, if possible?

Great idea. There will be many improvements to the map interface in R2. These will include cloning and adding new maps without the 'Map Setup'.

Thanks for your suggestion Rob.
At the moment we are working hard to complete the changes to the normal editor. We have considered placing a generalized greyscale editor to be used on maps such as AO and specular. For n… -
ShaderMap does not export shaders. It exports image maps. Maybe you could try rephrasing your question so that I can better understand what you are asking.

Thanks for your feedback.
Currently each source map requires the user to define if a source map is tileable or not. SM2 processes the source map differently when tileable.

Hi David,
It's easy to do. No apologies needed.
1. Drag a map in the map grid (left mouse + drag)
Great to hear that you have solved the material issue.
Also, thanks for the kind words about the normal editor, it's only going to get better.
Kind regards,

The HLSL Compiler also needs to be installed on your system as part of the DirectX 9 install. It is installed as part of the web installer. An offline version is available here: in Program Start Issue: SOLVED Comment by RSI August 2012(Quote)
What is the make and model of your Graphics/Video card?
It seems that you are having a problem with DirectX. For some reason the Direct3D compiler is unable to parse the Effect files found in the material XML.

Hi and thanks for reporting your issue.
What are the exact error codes that you are receiving?

Well that's not exactly the way Map Plugins work but points for imagination!
Map plugins DO NOT define image formats, they are used to generate maps from other maps. Essentially they take a set of pixels f…(Quote)
This feature is going to happen. I'm working hard on ShaderMap. I've even closed down other projects so I can focus all development on it. Still I don't expect models as source (baking) to arrive before version 3. There are a lot o…(Quote)

Currently you can double-click a map in the preview to reset it to the fit zoom state. A button would be helpful too (with a keyboard shortcut).

Hi David,
Thanks for your question. Yes, there are plans to add models as source.

It's no problem, just wanted you to see the images on that post and let you know my canned response to the artifact. :-)
Will send you an email when the beta is up.
NeilHi digman. This is a known problem that was talked about here: http://shadermap.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=8
I'll re-post the explanation here:
<…Thinking again on this.. I want to implement the curve feature first. It's an intuitive way to shape depth across a stencil brush surface going center -> out. Alpha stored in the stencil will be using standard blending of pixels/normals. Property…(Quote)

You are welcome. It's actually a lot of fun for me. I appreciate all the feedback you and other artists are giving. In the end it's your tool.
