[NO] FilerepMalware Part of ShaderMap?

Avast is reporting that FileRepMalware is part of Shadermap when I try to run it.

Is this intentional?

If so, this is not cool.

Negative. The system has been checked and installation files are intact with Rendering Systems Inc. digital signatures. This is probably a false positive.

When ShaderMap starts up it accesses the registry and also copies some files to the C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\ShaderMap folder. Perhaps this is triggering the false positive.

I also run Avast on our test systems and have never encountered this alert.

Edit: I would make sure to do a full scan of your system. If you downloaded the installation file of ShaderMap from our servers and it is signed by Rendering Systems Inc. Then it should not have any form of malware in it.
  • We were ready to release version 4.0.4 today. We are going to delay the release a few days to change the behavior of ShaderMap at startup so we can hopefully avoid the kinds of alerts that you are receiving.

Specifically we are going to change the way ShaderMap updates the localization files in C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\ShaderMap

    Kind regards,
    Neil
