Version 2.1 Released

ShaderMap version 2.1 is now available for download. It is a free update to all 2.x customers.

A video introducing changes to the Normal Editor:
This update adds many improvements to the Normal Editor, fixes several bugs, and improves on the user interface. Below is a summary of the changes found in 2.1:

Crash and Bug Fixes
  • Crash on Project IO - Brush / Material grid positions not saved or loaded
  • Crash when left clicking on models loaded from project
  • Crash when deleting map then canceling map changes in map setup
  • Brushes and Materials were not able to be reorganized.
  • N Editor paint pixels are sometimes incorrectly offset
  • 16 bit PSD/TIFF alpha loading bug in OPTX/DevIL
Interface Improvements
  • Auto select numberbox number on left-click

The Normal Editor
  • Convert all N Editor brushes to single archive files stored in User\Documents - Get rid of complex config files - can now copy / paste collections.
  • Removed duel normal and displacement painting from N Editor N Brush
  • Optimized N Editor V Brush memory - converted to single alpha channel
  • Force all Normal Editor brush's alpha to opaque when brush hardness is max
  • Mulithreaded updating to Normal Editor canvas
  • N Editor layer system (layers types [displacement, shape, rasterized normals, and base])
    • Each layer can be assigned a unique profile to modify layer pixels
    • Layers can be converted to displacement and rasterized normal types
  • N Editor Transform Tool - select, translate, scale, and rotate layers, previously translate tool
  • N Editor Displacement Brush - paints to displacement layers.
    • Uses curve control for defining surface of brush
  • N Editor Shape Tool uses bezier paths - can be line or filled [Rectangle, Ellipse, Polygon, Pen]
  • N Editor Shape Edit Tool
  • N Editor Eraser Brush
  • N Editor Select Tool
  • History for N Editor sessions
